    Useless. I just designed and made my own. I precut all the raised parts first. Shaped them myself. It was easier than expected but you should just take this video down and correct the speed. I would subscribe but I’ll wait. I would share but will wait. Please just make it useful to your viewers 🙏🏼

      Can you send me the images you are trying to work with? With these cutters I like to have a thin piece of fondant for the whole image as a back to work off of to essentially hold it all together and is easier to pick up. Then it is just piecing it together as you go. You can email me cakingatmidnight@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram and I will try my best to help you through it 💜

    Really cool! It looks like a paused splash! You could add small hints of color(s) to add some depth. Would food coloring, food dyes or the luster dusts/pearlized luster dusts change the consistency and/or outcome of the isomalt? In reference to your sculpture, on the one side broken off you could create an environment for a mermaid or water sprite or Disney's Little Mermaid characters. That is such a very useful material. It reminds me of an edible resin. Thanks for generously sharing your knowledge and expertise with us all! Happy Caking (at Midnight 😉)

    • @CakingatMidnight
      @CakingatMidnight Рік тому

      Thank you! Yes! You can totally add color. On the bag of isomalt it tells you what temp to add color so these could be sooo many different things. Thanks so much for watching 💜💜

    I have tried using the silicone mold for these. My problem is getting the edge thick enough so when you put it on the heat to smooth it out you don't have the holes like you showed. Even when I tried doing the chocolate twice.

    • @CakingatMidnight
      @CakingatMidnight Рік тому

      Ok! If buying the 3 piece molds in an option for you.... Do it! GAME CHANGER! but if you don't want to buy more molds then with the silicone molds apply chocolate to just the edges 1st. Let dry a bit and then go add you 1st layer of chocolate. Let dry and then add a 2nd coat. Focusing mostly on the edge. When I was using the silicone molds I would hold them up to the light to see what areas were thinner than others and then add chocolate where I needed. Does that makes sense / or help?

    when you are smoothing the fondant after the cake is covered, what is the "tool" you're using ? It looks like a clear plastic circle--and do you have cooking spray on it?

    • @CakingatMidnight
      @CakingatMidnight Рік тому

      Hey! I used the fondant smoother first and then when you see the clear plastic pieces, those are called Sugar Smoother. They came in a pack of different thicknesses. I also use cooking spray to roll out my fondant. This is a personal preference as I hate corn starch. Once I spray the counter I lightly wipe it with a paper towel to even it out to give me an even layer. This would be similar to using crisco or shortening on the counter... Just a little more controlled. Hope that helps!

    Moisture is fondants worse enemy. I remember my nephews wedding, the hottest and humid March in 20 years. I had 150 cup cake toppers, each having 5 components. I made them three weeks before hand and were well set hard using tylose powder to aid the hardening process. Five days before the wedding the toppers went soft- panic!! I left them in their open boxes in our office with the air conditioning on for three days before they reset. I wished I had known this little tip back then… would have calmed my anxiety- so thank-you for sharing this tip!
